This philosophy shapes how we train at Career Navigation and how we want to work with you.  Learning does not come from a simple course. It comes from real life. On the job.

Research by Princeton University shows that:

  • 70% of learning and development takes place from real-life and on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving
  • 20% comes from feedback and from observing and working with role models
  • 10% of learning and development comes from formal training

What does this mean for you?

70%…

We devote most of our energies to the 70% zone. Real-life and on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving.  To achieve this we use a trusted group of highly experienced, experiential trainers with a real passion for bringing the whole learning experience to life. In addition, we use industry seasoned executives who can add that little bit extra…the hands on knowledge of having done the job they are now training. This mixture of experiential trainer and executive is a win-win formula for you and your workforce, really bringing learning to life.

In addition, our trainers will follow up with and offer support to the delegates when they are back at work. This involves setting projects for your people that will give tangible benefits to you and your company. This continual reinforcement of any learning and ability to solve real problems as they happen is invaluable in the whole education process.

20%…

We work with you to look at role models within your company. We aim to make your top performers into champions and in the process further develop their skills and confidence in management, communication and leadership.

10%…

Of course, we still need some theory from time to time and this is where the classroom comes into its own. But, we will always deliver theory in an involved way.
